What Causes Allergic Symptoms?

Patients are naturally interested in what is happening in their bodies. This is also worth briefly explaining, as experience of the process is better understood, and experience has shown that treatment will be more effective. Allergies are essentially an overreaction of the immune system to other harmless substances found in our environment. These substances are recognized by the body as being allergic and produce antibodies against it. It is allergenic to this IgE type specific antibody. In case of pollen allergy, the allergen is pollen, which is the pollen of the flowering plant.

What are Common Allergic Plants?

In our country approx. 2000 flowers were growing from the plant approx. Pollen of 250 species is allergenic. Mostly the pollinated plants are among them. The main groups in Hungary, which are allergic, often start with peanuts in February, then the woods, and the woody ones. What does it depend on who gets allergic?

Genetic predisposition has a proven role in the development of allergic disease. The risk of developing an allergy in a newborn child is approximately 25% higher, if both parents are allergic, then 50% greater than if all the parents are not allergic (in this case the risk is 10%). In this case, it is always important to explain that predisposition, however, is not a disease. Allergic symptoms - the disease - develops into certain internal factors. It can be environmental harm, infectious, hormonal change, stress, or a combination of these. It is an interesting factor, but excessive hygiene habits in maintaining "sterile" conditions in children also contribute to the development of immune system allergies.

How Can I Treat Pollen Allergies?

The medical treatment of allergy symptoms is very important. Not only in terms of the quality of life of the patient, but also because of the risk of developing hypoallergenic asthma in the untreated allergy.
Allergies are affected by nasal spray steroids or antihistamines, which can be used for a longer period of time. The use of other nasal sprays for the treatment of allergies is not recommended and is contraindicated due to the side effects of prolonged use. Antihistam tablets, at the level of eye drops, are part of an effective treatment for symptoms. Alternative treatments to complementary therapies can be used for phototherapy or acupuncture, but are not recommended on their own and should only be sought by a qualified therapist.

Is There a Possible Solution to Allergic Symptoms?

Immunotherapy is the root cause of pollen allergy, which affects the cause of allergy, not just its symptoms. It is currently available in Hungary in cases of nerve, fы and ragweed allergy. Increasingly Popular Oral Immunotherapy (SLIT-Sublingual Immunotherapy) The benefit of converting an allergic immune response into a "remembering" immune response is that it can eliminate allergy, or at least significantly reduce it. It is advisable to start immunotherapy early, not to wait for years, to avoid the build-up of symptoms and possible asthma. Initially, you have at least 2 months before the allergen plant is in bloom.

What should I do if I have symptoms now?

Seek allergic treatment. When allergic symptoms occur, common symptomatic treatment may be initiated, and an allergic examination may still be possible. Skin testing is recommended only during the off-season. If you have known allergies and potentially immunotherapy is effective and recommended, it is recommended that you start before the next season. In the meantime, symptomatic treatment may be applied.
